Virtual Counseling by State for Military-Connected Individuals and Families
Military life, family changes, careers, school, and major transitions can take you from one place to another. CCW International provides virtual mental health care across ten U.S. jurisdictions, including Hawaii and Washington, DC, helping eligible clients connect with clinicians who are authorized to provide care where the client is physically located. Military moves, school, work, travel, and family transitions can all affect which clinicians are available to you.

Online Counseling Still Has Location Requirements
Telehealth makes counseling more convenient, but mental health professionals must still follow licensing and practice requirements based on where a client is physically located during the appointment.
If you travel, relocate, PCS, attend school in another state, or spend an extended period somewhere else, your clinician may need to confirm that care can continue from that location.
Our team reviews location, clinician authorization, clinical fit, scheduling availability, and insurance or payment requirements before care begins.
Where Are You During the Session?
For telehealth, the important location is generally where you are physically located when the appointment takes place. If you are moving or traveling, tell your clinician or the CCW team before your next appointment so we can review whether care can continue.

PCS Moves & Military Transitions
Moving Does Not Mean You Should Have to Start From Scratch
Military families know how quickly a location can change. PCS orders, deployments, temporary duty, retirement, school, and family transitions can all affect where you receive mental health care.
When possible, CCW works to reduce unnecessary disruptions by reviewing whether your existing clinician can continue serving you after a move or whether another CCW clinician may be appropriately authorized in your new location.
If you know you are moving, contact us before the move. That gives our team time to review location requirements, clinician authorization, insurance, referrals, and continuity options.
Additional Telepsychology Access
Your Options May Extend Beyond Our Core Locations
Some CCW psychologists may be authorized to provide telepsychology across participating PSYPACT jurisdictions when applicable requirements are met.
PSYPACT applies to eligible psychologists and does not automatically extend the practice authority of every clinician on the CCW team.
Because participation rules and clinician authorizations can change, we do not recommend choosing a provider based only on a state list.
International Expansion
Supporting Military-Connected Communities Across the U.S. and Abroad
Military life does not stop at the U.S. border. Families may relocate overseas while still needing culturally responsive mental health care from professionals who understand U.S. military life.
CCW is continuing to develop its international service model for eligible U.S. citizens and military-connected families.
International care depends on local practice requirements, clinician authorization, payer rules, clinical appropriateness, and other applicable requirements.

Germany
CCW is preparing to expand services for eligible U.S. military-connected communities in Germany beginning Fall 2026.
Availability will remain subject to applicable professional practice requirements, clinician authorization, payer credentialing, eligibility, and clinical appropriateness.

Questions About Location & Virtual Counseling
Why does my location matter if counseling is online?
Mental health professionals generally must be licensed or otherwise authorized to provide care based on where the client is physically located during the appointment. Telehealth does not eliminate professional practice requirements.
Can I keep my therapist if I PCS to another state?
Sometimes. It depends on your new location, the clinician’s license or other authorization, insurance requirements, and clinical circumstances. Contact CCW before your move whenever possible so we can review continuity options.
Can I have a counseling session while traveling?
Your clinician must consider where you are physically located at the time of the appointment. If you will be traveling outside your usual location, tell your clinician in advance so authorization can be reviewed.
Does every CCW therapist see clients in every listed state?
No. Clinicians hold different licenses and authorizations. Provider availability also varies based on specialty, age group, scheduling, insurance participation, and clinical fit.
Can PSYPACT allow me to see a CCW psychologist in another state?
In some circumstances, eligible psychologists may provide telepsychology in participating PSYPACT jurisdictions. Eligibility and authorization must be confirmed for the specific psychologist and client location.
Can CCW see clients who live overseas?
International availability depends on the country, clinician authorization, applicable professional practice rules, payer requirements, and clinical appropriateness. Contact CCW before scheduling from outside the United States so your location can be reviewed.
